Agile Testing Services
Planit is well known for delivering the testing for projects to a high quality standard and successfully using Waterfall or the V-model. Planit now has the capability to provide testing using Agile methodologies and processes.
Agile has been around (formally at least) for over ten years with the creation of the Agile Manifesto, although many organisations have been using the practices on more traditional projects where it has fitted within the context and environment.
Internationally Certified Staff
Looking for Agile specialists? Planit has a weath of staff who are Certified Agile Testers, able to add real value to your projects through the practical application of their Agile testing skills, mentoring of your teams or setting up Agile within your Testing area.
Moving to Agile is a change of mindset as well as processes and most testers cannot adapt by simply saying you are doing Agile as from Monday without support being in place. While lots of the individual practices are still the same planning; analysis; design; execution; defect detection and closure activities, they may be done in a different way and certainly on smaller artefacts in much quicker timeframes (iterations).
There is nowhere to hide in an Agile team. Testers may have to take on competencies that they would not normally do in a traditional project such as requirement elicitation, acceptance criteria, code reviews, automation and performance testing. These may be new skill sets for some, in support of multi-functional teams, and certainly soft skills becomes much more important.
With ”just in time” documentation and greater focus on interaction and conversation over detailed specifications, testers need to be excellent communicators. Some teams may not even record defects, particularly with co-located teams that are highly collaborative opting to talk through the defects and demonstrate them to the developer instead.
The use of testing techniques becomes critical as designing the maximum coverage with the minimum amount of tests, due to the short timeframes, is a priority. Exploratory testing is also very common with the use of session sheets, charters and test ideas. This involves lightweight planning to start, so that you have a goal or overall objective for the testing, but learning and adapting as you go such as doing further testing in an area where you have found a few high severity defects, as we all know there is likely to be others in that area of code.
