Competencies Audit

Planit can provide clients with a Competencies Audit to assess the skills and competencies of their staff. This can either be achieved by mapping to the professional career competencies of Planit’s own staff or by verifying that staff met the internal company defined competency levels.

Planit is able to compare skill sets and make recommendations to improve the existing competencies of your staff. Also Planit can help you define role descriptions and their matching to capability requirements. Planit can even assist in the creation of job specifications for advertisements and be involved in the recruitment process, aiding in the definition of interview questions and the actual assessment process.

As part of the skills audit, Planit provides a Senior team member to:

  • Review the existing test process documentation
  • Verify job descriptions
  • Interview the personnel to identify skills and competencies against industry standard job roles for testing
  • Recommend a development plan for the current testing resource

Planit can also provide some ongoing support to the testing resources to coach and mentor on activities identified in the Development Plan.

The process will consist of two activities:

Performance Appraisal

This will include:

  • Review of test assets produced by the individual
  • Interviews and feedback from staff that the individual interacts with
  • Interview with the individual assessing their perspective on competencies and skills

Development Plan

This will include:

  • Development activities
  • Plan and Timescales
  • Success criteria for completion of activities
  • Agreed review procedures
